This technology has evolved very quickly from just a telephone, to that which includes a camera, texting and internet access.

How are children/teens cyber-bullying with cell phones?
  • Taking or sharing embarrassing pictures of someone
  • Sharing private phone conversations with others without their permission
  • Texting nasty comments
  • Texting or calling repeatedly
  • Viewing someone's cell phone without their permission
  • Using information found from viewing someone's cell phone to harass them
What is "sexting"?
  • Sending or receiving nude or partially nude pictures over a cell phone
Who is "sexting"?
  • 66% have sent nude or partially nude pictures to a boyfriend/girlfriend (The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy Reports, 2008)
  • 24% of 14-17 year-olds have been involved in "sexting" (MTV Digital Abuse Study, 2009)
